Policy Statement

It is the policy of Western University of Health Sciences (WesternU), Bursar’s Office that students settle all tuition and fees by the determined due dates. As of July 1, 2011 all student accounts that are not settled by the tuition due date will be subject to penalty fees.

Purpose of Policy

To ensure that student accounts are settled in a timely manner.

Related Policy Information


1.       All student accounts must be settled by the student’s prospective class start date, otherwise the account will be considered past due. Accounts that have tuition and/or fees outstanding will be subject to a $50.00 late payment fee assessed every month until the account is paid in full. This fee will apply starting the day after the first day of the academic term.

2.       Certain circumstances that the penalty fee may be waived:

a.       Students with pending financial aid processing issues and who have submitted their financial aid paperwork before the deadline.

b.      Additional circumstances that warrant the revocation of a late fee will be determined at the discretion of the Associate Treasurer’s and Bursar’s Office.

3.       Students whose past due accounts have tuition and/or fees outstanding may be prohibited from attending classes.
