Through the scholarship, PetSmart Charities will award up to $50,000 to a veterinary student who demonstrates interest and aptitude in pursuing a career in accessible veterinary care. This scholarship is only available to students attending veterinary school in the United States.

To be considered, students must:

• Be in the first or second year of a DVM program with at least a 2.5 GPA
• Have previously worked or volunteered in an accessible veterinary care clinic or community care clinic
• Have one letter of recommendation from a DVM/VMD, and one letter of recommendation from a community leader, social worker, or other community partner
