The goal of the Community for Vision Scholarship Program is to provide greater access and opportunity to higher education for outstanding students who are pursuing study in Eye Care related disciplines.

Two $2,500 Scholarships Awarded Each Year

At Community for Vision we support our scholars in a variety of ways, including but not limited to: personal, leadership and professional development opportunities; networking, and mentorship opportunities; as well as financial and academic support to prepare its scholars to be the next leaders in their Eye Care professions and communities.

The Scholarship Application Process

Community for Vision awards two scholarships annually to current students planning a career in eye care; one scholarship will be awarded to a first- or second-year student and the second scholarship will be awarded to a third-year student. The Community for Vision 2018 Scholarship applications are open now and due January 30, 2018. Applicants will be notified on March 15, 2018, regarding the status of their application. Scholarship recipients will receive funds by August 1, 2018.

Eligibility

To be eligible, the applicant must have a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA, be pursuing or planning to pursue their first graduate degree related to eye care, and plan to enroll as a part-time or full-time student at an accredited U.S. School and College of Optometry in the upcoming academic year.

Scholarship Requirements

• Minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent)
• Merit-based scholarships available for current students of an accredited Schools and Colleges of Optometry in the United States
• Scholarship awards are $2,500 per application period
• The applicant who is awarded the scholarship will be asked to share their progress on a semi-annual basis
