At this time, when the female population makes up almost half of the entering student body for medical school, it is important to recognize the continuing growth of women in medicine. For the first time, one female Osteopathic medical student will be chosen to receive a $1000.00 scholarship sponsored by the National Association of Osteopathic Foundation (NAOF). The NAOF envisions this scholarship helping to highlight “the unique importance of women in the field.” The hope is to encourage women within healthcare to pursue higher leadership roles, to act as for those women who follow in their place, and to develop equality within the workplace.

Requirements of Consideration:
-SOMA Membership
- Student must be enrolled in an accredited Osteopathic medical school
-Student must be OMS I, II, III, or IV
- Not a previous recipient of the scholarship
- Completed Application by the deadline date
