The SOMA Foundation is committed to encouraging students to look at those areas of healthcare which provide the most reward, both to their careers and to the world. Over the past 100 years, the greatest advances in human lifespan are due to the efforts of physicians and pharmacists working in the field of preventive medicine. To encourage students planning to work in the field of community medicine, the SOMA Foundation is offering a $1000 scholarship to a SOMA member who demonstrates commitment to community medicine both in his or her past experiences and future career plans.
