The Ronald P. Bangasser, M.D. Medical Student Scholarship was established in 2008 and has since provided nine worthy students with funds totaling $27,000 to defray their tuitions. Scholarships are available to medical students attending Loma Linda University School of Medicine (LLUSM), University of California Riverside (UCR) Medical School, and Western University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine (COMP).

Qualified students will have the opportunity to apply for a $5,000 grant. The Physicians’ Memorial Gift and  benevolence Fund (PMGBF) along with San Bernardino County Medical Society (SBCMS) are committed to helping  plant the seeds for the future” in our medical students.

• Official confirmation from LLUSM, UCR or COMP of completion of a minimum of one year of medical school and verification of student’s good standing. Applicant may apply during second or third year.
• Submission of a Curriculum Vitae to include community service activities
• Two letters of recommendation: at least one of whom is a medical school faculty member, a second who can be a physician, employer, advisor, or community service director.
• Two essays addressing two topics designated from certain categories.
