The Burnett Osteopathic Student Research Award recognizes an osteopathic medical student for an outstanding concept paper pertaining to osteopathic-oriented research.

• Any osteopathic medical student who is currently enrolled in an AOA accredited college of osteopathic medicine and was so at the time the concept paper was developed is eligible to receive this award.
• Demonstrated commitment to the osteopathic profession, and its principles and practices
• Active interest in clinical or basic science research pertaining to osteopathic medicine and manipulative treatment
• Outstanding academic achievement and noteworthy accomplishments in research
