Scholarship opportunity for tuition assistance

The mission of IHS is to raise the physical, mental, social and spiritual health of American Indians and Alaska Natives to the highest level. The IHS Scholarship Program gives many qualified health professionals the opportunity to pursue their careers and help their communities.

 

The Health Professions scholarship provides financial aid covering tuition, required fees and other educational and living expenses for qualified American Indian and Alaska Native students (members of federally recognized Tribes only) applying to, accepted by or enrolled in a health profession program. Students incur a service obligation upon acceptance of funding from this program. Priority is given to graduate students and junior- and senior-level students unless otherwise specified.

  • Be a member of a Federally recognized Indian Tribe, Eskimo, Aleut, or other Alaska Natives.
  • Be enrolled in an appropriately accredited school and be pursuing a course of study in a health profession.
  • Note: The Indian Health Professions Scholarship recipients will incur a service obligation upon acceptance of funding from this program.
