The Primary Care Office in the Bureau of Community Health Systems receives funding from the federal Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) through the National Health Service Corps to administer the Kansas State Loan Repayment Program (SLRP). The program provides loan repayment assistance to health professionals with qualifying educational loans.
Eligible professions include primary care physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurse mid-wives, dentists, dental hygienists, clinical psychologists/clinical psychotherapists, clinical social workers, clinical professional counselors and clinical marriage and family therapists.
To be eligible for an award, health professionals must commit to provide health care services at an eligible site located in a federally designated Health Professional Service Area (HPSA) for a minimum of 2 years. Employment must be with a public or nonprofit private agency or facility. The practice site is required to maintain an open door to all residents, regardless of their ability to pay or their pay source. |
