WICHE, based in Boulder, Colorado, collaborates with its fifteen member states to expand educational access and excellence for all citizens of the West. The Professional Student Exchange Program is one of three exchange programs of WICHE which enables students in thirteen Western states to enroll in selected out-of-state professional programs, usually because those fields of study are not available at public institutions in their home states. The home state pays a support fee to the admitting schools to help cover the cost of the students education.

You must be a resident of Alaska, Arizona, Colorado, Hawaii, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Utah or Wyoming and your field of study is not available through the state of which you are a resident.
Although California, Guam, Idaho, Oregon, South Dakota and Washington are WICHE members, they do not support their residents through the Professional Student Exchange Program.
