POMONA, Calif. - 08/30/2010 -- Several Western University of Health Sciences alumni are considered among the top doctors in the region, according to an article in the September 2010 issue of Inland Empire magazine.
The article, "The Top Doctors in the Inland Empire," features College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific (COMP) graduates Pejman Katiraei, DO '03, a pediatrician who works for the Loma Linda University Pediatric Wholistic Medicine Clinic in the Loma Linda University Center for Health Promotion; John David Branch, DO '85, who works in family practice at Raincross Medical Group in Riverside; and Franklin Johnson, DO '00, an OB/GYN for the Care for Women's Medical Group in Fontana.
Jeffrey Dean Ries, a 1984 COMP graduate, was listed under specialists, for neurology.
Thirty-four physician specialties and more than 240 doctors from the Inland Empire were on the list, which covers the Pomona Valley, San Bernardino and Riverside counties.
Inland Empire magazine used research from The Center for Study of Services, a nonprofit consumer organization based in Washington, D.C. The survey, conducted every two years, asked fellow doctors who they would want to care for a loved one. Physicians are surveyed from a pool of around 340,000 physicians nationally.
Readers also made favorable comments about several WesternU alumni in the magazine's reader poll, sharing their thoughts about their favorite doctors.
In the magazine's poll results, reader Judy Gregory said that Dr. Dennis Cramer, a COMP graduate from 2001, "is not only an amazing doctor and teacher, he is well loved by both his staff and patients." Reader Kimberly Davis said, "Dr. (Franklin) Johnson is a very caring and knowledgeable physician. He made me feel at ease with all my questions."
