The Banfield Veterinary Clinical Center (bottom two photos) was recently completed and College of Veterinary Medicine faculty and staff have moved into their new offices. The two-story, 31,200-square-foot center includes a student commons, Banfield, The Pet Hospital, a wet lab and an audio-visual training room on the first floor. Faculty and staff offices are on the second floor, along with a lecture hall and conference rooms.
A groundbreaking ceremony was held for the Health Education Center (top five photos) in December. The four-story, 180,000-square-foot center will be the new home of the College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific and three new colleges opening in 2009 – the College of Dental Medicine, the College of Optometry and the College of Podiatric Medicine. Construction is expected to be completed in summer 2009.
The Patient Care Center (not pictured) will also be completed in summer 2009. Students will gain an understanding and appreciation for other health professionals and promote a team approach to patient care and health care management as part of the university’s unique new interprofessional curriculum. The Patient Care Center will be customized for educational programs as well as optimal patient care.
