WesternU Hires Director of Student Development
Pomona, CA - 10/05/1998 -- Gisele G. Tackoor, JD, an executive administrator with extensive mediation experience, has joined Western University of Health Sciences (WesternU) as director of student development.
In her new position, Tackoor will act as advisor to WesternU's student government association and other campus organizations, as well as to the student yearbook, The Neocortex. Her duties also include acting as liaison between the University's students and administration.
"Gisele's achievements as an administrator and mediator, as well as her experience as a community college educator and her legal background will prove invaluable as she works with our students," said Beverly A. Guidry, MS, dean of student affairs/registrar. "We're very fortunate she's chosen to work at WesternU."
Tackoor comes to the University from RCI Management in Corona, California, where she was an account executive and foreclosure administrator/supervisor. She also has worked as a resident assistant while an undergraduate at the University of California, Berkeley.
WesternU's new director of student development also is an adjunct professor of business law at Chaffey College in Rancho Cucamonga, California.
A graduate of Upland High School, Tackoor received her law degree from the College of Law at the University of La Verne and her bachelor's degree in sociology from UC Berkeley.
In addition to her law degree, Tackoor is a certified mediator and a notary public for the State of California. She also is vice president of the Inland C's, an alumni association of UC Berkeley that interviews applicants and selects Inland Empire-based winners for alumni scholarships.
Tackoor is single and lives in Upland, California.
